Synergy of Micro Prismatic Sheets and Diffuser Films for reaching UGR<19

Our diffuser film, is often used in conjunction with clear micro prismatic sheets in LED luminaires to help achieve a UGR (Unified Glare Rating) of less than 19, which is the recommended limit for indoor lighting.

Our micro prismatic sheet is designed to control light by redirecting and diffusing it, which can help to reduce glare and improve the overall visual comfort of the space. However, this material alone may not be enough to achieve the desired UGR rating, especially in situations where the luminaires are positioned at low angles or in close proximity to the viewer.

To further control the light and reduce glare, a diffuser film is often added behind the micro prismatic sheet. The diffuser film works by scattering and spreading the light in all directions, which helps to soften the edges of the light beam and reduce the intensity of hotspots, resulting in a more uniform and comfortable light distribution.

The combination of micro prismatic sheets and diffuser films allows for a precise balance between light control, efficiency, and visual comfort, making it an ideal solution for indoor LED lighting applications.

Recommended Opto film: Opto90 PET225 and Opto80 PC200.

Best Optical Film for UGR<19

Depending on the luminaire design, it can use a similar grade opto film. We do have variations of light transmittance and thickness. Even a diffuser sheet could be used: the Plexi90 Frost or Plexi90 Silk has been used in various applications.

Recommended Microprismatic: Plexi Honeycomb and Plexi Hexagon.
